CHAMPIONING THE FEMALE NARRATIVE

Jot Theatre is an all female theatre company formed in 2025 for the development of our first show: Shakespeare’s Guise.

We all met whilst training at Drama Studio London. We all loved collaborating as we have a shared passion for Shakespeare, movement and devising theatre that excites and inspires us. India McNicholas, our Artsistic Director, came up with a 'what-if?': What if Shakespeare was a pseudonym used by a woman, how would that affect his stories and the characters? Jot Theatre was formed, with the aim of creating exciting new work that celebrates female stories and creatives.

Why “Jot”?
Because every creative process begins with a single idea. All it takes is to jot down that first thought, spark of inspiration, or fleeting concept… the starting point from which something extraordinary can grow. So what are you waiting for?

We are always keen to connect and grow our creative network. Through our events and workshops, we strive to build and maintain meaningful relationships with the wonderful people we meet along the way. We truly believe that while our journeys in this industry can be unpredictable and ever-changing, it is a strong and supportive community that makes all the difference.
